the holidays are coming, are you ready?

even though we're in california, you can tell when winter arrives. so what if we don't get to experience the joys of chipping ice off our windshield, or shoveling snow from our driveways? or that most people around here think "snow day" was just the title to a sub-par movie?

we can still appreciate a glowing fire and a toasty cup of cocoa to warm us up when the mercury dips into the 40s and 50s.

that being the case though, thanksgiving is just around the corner.. with christmas not too far behind. and if you're anything like us, it's the perfect time to start thinking about all the holiday shopping to be done, decorations to put up... and of course -- getting this year's christmas cards and letters together to send to all your loved ones.

mailing the same old store-bought cards, year after year, ...after year, ...after year, ...after year... can get pretty blah. and while even those costco-esque photo postcards accomplish the task with a little more panache, they can feel a little more like an after-thought with a photo, than a personalized card.
